Wheelchair Ramp for Ms. E

rampMs. E is a 46 year old female who had a stroke and was placed in the Marmet Center Nursing Home. Due to her age and loss of independence she desperately wanted to return home. She learned about our Center and contacted us stating that she needed a wheelchair ramp installed at her home. This was all that she needed to be released from the nursing home.

ACIL staff met her sister at the home and completed an assessment, designed the ramp and scheduled a construction date. The ramp was completed and Ms. E was able to return home and is currently living on her own with support from her family.

The total cost of this project was $2,775. Being released from the nursing home saves the State approximately $70,000 in nursing home care annually.
