Legislative Priorities for 2012

West Virginia Centers for Independent Living

The West Virginia Centers for Independent Living (WVCIL) is a joint collaboration of all centers for independent living (see a list of all centers) in West Virginia.

The WV Centers for Independent Living are urging the WV Legislature to continue to support basic independent living services that are critical to the lives of the over 400,000 individuals with disabilities in West Virginia. We are requesting the WV Legislature restore the WV Division of Rehabilitation Services' Independent Living Services budget in the amount of $500,000.

Updates as of March 20, 2012:

Independent Living Services: The Legislature voted to restore the Independent Living Services state budget line to its original $500,000. Waiting for Governor Tomblin to sign it.

Medication Administration by Unlicensed Personnel Act: Passed by Senate and House.
