Money Follows the Person Legislation

The purpose of "Money Follows the Person" is to allow funding currently supporting individuals in nursing homes or other institutional settings to follow those individuals into community-based services and supports.

• The Center for an Accessible Society's intent is to focus public attention on disability and independent living issues.
• Memphis Center for Independent Living (MCIL) is located in Memphis, TN. This is a link to an article in the MCIL Journal about the introduction of the legislation "Money Follows the Person" by Senator Harkin.
• Clearinghouse for the Community Living Exchange Collaborative is a joint effort of ILRU and Rutger Center for State Health Policy that provides information on systems change grants.
• Center for Personal Assistance Services provides research, training, dissemination, and technical assistance on issues of personal assistance services in the US.
