Jane Marks is the Executive Director of the WV Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Jane has worked in the non-profit arena for 16 years. She has worked with many community coalitions, written manuals and facilitated volunteer trainings, presented at a wide variety of state and national conferences, and has extensive knowledge in the development field.
Jane established the 501(c) 3 organization that formed the first ever resiliency model after school program for at-risk elementary children that won several awards and national recognition and for six years she served as it's Executive Director. She established the volunteer program for the first WV Cancer Patient Support Program at Charleston Area Medical Center. For several years, she was the Executive Director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern West Virginia.
Since 2001, Jane has been the Executive Director of the WV Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association that serves all 55 counties of West Virginia and 6 counties in eastern Ohio. In both 2002 and 2005 she presented workshops on legislative tactics at the national Alzheimer's Association Public Policy Forum in Washington DC. In May of 2005 Jane presented at the White House Conference on Aging Solutions Forum on Aging.
Jane serves on the national Branding Task Force for the Alzheimer's Association. In addition, she serves on the work group for an Administration on Aging Grant in conjunction with the WV Bureau of Senior Services and on the WV Center on Aging's Rural Healthy Aging Network Project which will help identify gaps in research, knowledge and practice, regarding how to improve health and access to healthcare among rural older adults.
