"The Virtual Center for Independent Living for West Virginia"
The Consumer Advocacy and Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities (CAACPD) is a consumer advisory and advocacy committee that was established in August of 1988 at Mountain State Centers for Independent Living (MTSTCIL) in Beckley, WV.
Committee members are individuals with disabilities who participate in programs at MTSTCIL and who are concerned with the advancement of MTSTCIL, its programs and in improving the quality of life of individuals with disabilities in the community.
The vision of the CAACPD is to provide MTSTCIL staff and Board of Directors with input and feedback on the programs offered to the disability community and to advocate for people with disabilities living in Raleigh County.
The mission of the CAACPD is to be an active advisory and advocacy committee in the Beckley and Raleigh County area. The CAACPD will be a model committee being responsive to the needs of MTSTCIL and our community.
