People with a disability can do the same things we can do. When you get a disability it doesn't mean your life is over, it just means you live life differently.

And the winners of the Kids ADA 2010 art contest are, drum roll please . . . .
First place winners received a $50 gift certificate from Office Depot for their homeroom teacher to buy school supplies for their class room. The student's winning picture will appear on the front cover of the new "Kids ADA" coloring book for the 2011 school year.
Winners pictures were shown on WOWK Channel 13 during the weather broadcast.
Winning artwork was featured in the Herald Dispatch on December 2, 2010 and on the Herald Dispatch Web site.

First place winners received a $50 gift certificate from Office Depot for their art teacher to buy supplies for the art room at their school. The winning drawing will be featured in the new disability awareness brochure for middle schools for the 2011 school year.

All students received a certificate for participating in the contest and a ribbon for their accomplishments.
There were a total of twenty-four schools participating in the "Kids ADA" disability awareness program in 2010.
There were a total of 2,025 students who attended the Kids ADA presentations this year with 870 elementary school students and 1,135 middle school students and 20 high school students who attended the presentations. There were 75 teachers and principals who attended our presentations.
Mountain State Centers for Independent Living provided Kids ADA presentations in Wayne, Cabell, Mason and Putnam Counties this year.
The Kids ADA program teaches students about the American's with Disabilities Act, disability awareness, accessibility awareness, and that all people should be treated equally.
