The Governor sent his representative, Tammi Stollings, to deliver his greetings and support to the people of Mountain State Centers for Independent Living, the people who walked and all the many people who sponsored and support our work in the community.
Here is what the Governor had to say:
As Governor, it is my pleasure to recognize today's 4th Annual Walk for Independence. I am sorry I cannot join you on this special occasion; however, I am pleased to see so many people come out to support this great cause.
The Mountain State Centers for Independent Living provides advocacy, networking and resources to persons with disabilities and their families. I applaud the people here today that recognize the significance of this important issue and who are helping to ensure the continuation of these important supports.
On behalf of the citizens of West Virginia, please accept my most sincere best wishes for a productive and enjoyable event. I have not doubt it will be a great success.
With warmest regards,
Joe Manchin III, Governor
