The Advocacy Builds Leadership and Education Consumer Advisory Committee (ABLE/CAC) serves as a consumer advisory group to the Mountain State Centers for Independent Living (MTSTCIL) Board of Directors (Huntington) to provide the board with information regarding the needs of people with disabilities in the community and ideas of how to improve the lives of people with disabilities. The Committee members are individuals with disabilities who participate in programs at MTSTCIL and who are concerned with the advancement of MTSTCIL, its programs and improving the quality of life of individuals with disabilities. Committee members also educate and advocate promoting the independent living philosophy while serving as peer support to other people with disabilities.
