Mountain State Welcomes Push America: Journey of Hope

It is always an exciting day when the Push American cycling team arrives in town. Last year we had a great time cheering on the team as they arrived in town and entertaining them during their stay. We are looking forward to another great event and look forward to seeing you there! Read about last year's Push America 2005.

In Huntington

Once again, Mountain State Centers for Independent Living will welcome the Push America cyclists to Huntington, WV on August 2, 2006 with a reception and friendship visit to be held at Ritter Park in Huntington. In Beckley

The Push America cyclists will arrive in Beckley, WV on August 4, 2006. Mountain State Centers for Independent Living staff and consumers will host a dinner for the cyclists at the Beckley center followed by an evening of bowling. Push America

Push America was founded in 1977 by Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity with the purpose of instilling lifelong service in its members and enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities. Since 1988 Pi Kappa Phi has been cycling across the country to promote awareness on behalf of people with disabilities. Their cycling events raise over $500,000 every summer that benefits people with disabilities.
